This is the preparation material for an English conversation lesson about manners and etiquette.  Etiquette is a code that rules how everyone is expected to behave, according to the social conventions and norms in society. Because they are a product of the society's culture and history, the rules of etiquette are very different from one place and social group to another. The words 'some' and 'any' are what we call Determiners.  We use these words before nouns in order to add meaning. Some examples of other Determiners are: much, many, every, each and both. 'Some' and 'any' give us an indication about the amount of something.  These two little words - some and any - are often confused with each other but there are some important differences between them.
