Collocations are combinations of words that go together naturally, and are essential for fluent and natural-sounding English. These books present and practice hundreds of collocations in typical contexts to help improve your written and spoken English.

Phrasal Verbs

Phrasal verbs are verbs which have a main verb and a particle which, together, make one meaning. For example a plane takes off from the airport; an adult looks after a child. Using short texts, dialogues, tables and charts, these books cover explain and practise over 1,000 phrasal verbs to help you develop more natural-sounding English.

Idioms are fixed expressions whose meaning is not obvious from the individual words that make it. For example, instead of saying I'm really busy you might say I'm snowed under or I'm up to my ears in work. You can learn to understand over 1,000 of the most useful and frequent idioms which they are likely to encounter in everyday English.
